verb
"to discard or throw out as worthless, useless, or substandard; cast off or out"
Hebrews 53:3, “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”
In this teaching, I will be sharing HIS story on rejection. Yes, The Most High. The I AM THAT I AM has a rejection story, and you've very well played a part in it...or maybe still do. The purpose of this video is to eliminate the "victim" mindset; understanding Christ went through more than you; and you've played a part of HIS story. Let's humble ourselves and listen to His story, just as we can listen to our neighbor's.🧏🏾♀️📖👏🏾

Notes from Teaching Video:
Introduction
In the first video of this series, I gave my testimony. I shared my story; however, this ministry is not centered around Tamar, yet it is centered around The I AM.
I shared my story, but what about His story? Did you know The I AM has testimonies of rejection and still has them today? In this series (it will be more structured because it will be woven with The Word of God and under the guidance of The Holy Spirit), I want to share His story.
Now, we know The Most High cannot PHYSICALLY share His story, which is why He calls His children or representatives to speak on His behalf. As a child of The Most High, I will share His story of rejection.
One of the key points of this series is to become healed and to develop healthy coping mechanisms to overcome rejection, offense, escapism, and self-sabotage; however, a major focus is removing the “victim mindset”. The “victim mindset” is a mindset where the individual traces every error or failure to a selected trauma. Now, yes, we have endured traumatic things, where we are the victim, but when are we going to rise above the social status of a “victim” and step into a “victor”.
What makes us a victor, Valencia?
Overcoming our trauma with Christ. With Christ you can do all things, right? Philippians 4:13. But, a lot of us love to stay in the pool of victims. Every failure or rejection we encounter we will place the responsibility on a traumatic event from years ago. I want to supernaturally remove the “victim mindset” from you, if you permit.
“How will you do this?” I’m going to take the scope off of you and direct it to the person, who created you—The I AM THAT I AM. “Why?” because He has the worst rejection story known to Mankind and the funny Truth is you’re a part of His rejection story.
Pay attention to what I just said—you’re a part of His rejection story. Instead of being the victim, you’re the “assailant”. In His story, you do not get to have the pity party. Every individual of Mankind plays a part in His story, so let’s humble ourselves and listen.
If we’re quick to hear a victim’s story in the world, let’s be quicker to hear our Father’s…
Isaiah 53:3, “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised and we esteemed him not.”
Hebrews 4:15, “For we have not an high priest, which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
1 Peter 4:13;16, “But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (16) Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.”
The Garden of Eden
The Garden of Eden is the first part of Mankind's role in The Most High’s story. Imagine creating something for your pleasure, but because you’re not selfish, you give them free will, hoping they’ll love you anyway. Imagine giving them a dwelling place in a well furnished garden. Giving them everything they need and then some. Giving Man a helpmeet, so they can repopulate more of the blessed creation you made. Making sure they’re joyful and feel loved; however, to see if they want to please and love you too, you give them a simple test—
but they fail.
But, not only do they fail, but the man you created rejected you for someone lower than you. Someone inferior than you. Someone less than you. Someone that cannot do anything like you. Someone that cannot love like you can.
How would you feel? Answer.
Now, with what you’re feeling, I want you to multiply that by infinity…that’s how your God feels and CONTINUES to feel this very day, and you’ve been or currently are contributing to that feeling. How does that make you feel? Answer.
Sorrowful?
Contrite?
Broken?
Good. You’re a part of the small percentage, who has a tender spot for the feelings of their Savior. You know the intense depression and anger you feel at your lowest? Who do you think gave you these emotions?
The Most High, so if you as the creation with the gift of a soul experience the weight of emotions, what do you think The Creator of that feels?
What am I trying to convey to you?
You may have a story of rejection, but you’re not the first one to be rejected. The Most High was and you’ve played a part in the story of His rejection.
“How?”
Your life before Christ.
Your sin.
Your disobedience.
Your rebellion.
Your disloyalty.
And (possibly) your life in Christ.
Every day we choose to either accept Christ or to reject Him. Reject His wisdom. His council. His conviction. His words. His feelings. His love and much more.
Is the “victim mindset” slowly deteriorating? I believe those who have a heart for The Most High are really pondering on what He endures, instead of their story of rejection.
This is good. This is very good. If you feel you have to take a moment to reflect and apologize to The Most High for your moment of rejecting Him, I won’t blame you. You’ve probably already done that before, but when you really love someone, it doesn’t hurt to do it again and again…and again.
Mount Sinai
The Most High has recently heard the cries of His people—Israel—and decides to free them from their afflictions and burdens and not in any ordinary or old fashion way, but with great signs and wonders. Slaying their enemies in a great slaughter of the wavering sea; plagues; and supernatural weather events. He did all these “extra” things for His people to let them know He greatly loves them. He temporarily put the laws of physics on hold and made an aquarium like passageway for His people. He supernaturally became a cloud for Israel (which is not a small people, so imagine how big this cloud was). He supernaturally becomes fire by night for their warmth. He gave them bread, and no Publix…no Panera…but bread from heaven.
You know how you gave your best of the best to someone you love because you want them to know they’re loved by you? You don’t give them the average, but you go out your way to “wow” them?
The Most High did this for His people, Israel.
His jewel–Israel.
Throughout the journey of Israel reaching their promised land (imagine He did all these wonders, before the Promise Land—the main thing they focused on), He gave them His rules and standards because He is a God of royalty and holiness, who cannot be handled substandard. He is far too great. The people agreed to the standards of His laws; the blessings He would give them, if they adhered to them; and the cursings if they did not. The people just agreed; however, as Moses was tarrying with The Most High longer than they expected, they committed a great sin—
The rejection of God.
They rejected what this marvelous God did for them and made a molten calf. Now, let’s trace back to The Garden, Man rejected God for woman, another created vessel of Mankind. Now, the children of Israel rejected God…not for Man…not for another creation like themselves, but by an OBJECT likened to an ANIMAL, which is lower than themselves.
How would you feel, if someone rejected you for a species lower-than-lower than you?
Imagine how He felt. He just did all these marvelous signs and wonders, and His people could not be patient enough to wait for Him to come. They should’ve had the faith; He wouldn’t forsake them. He just promised them, but because of their impatience and LACK OF TRUE LOVE for their God, they rejected Him for a MOLTEN CALF.
Notice what The Most High said in Exodus 32:8, “They have turned aside quickly out the way which I commanded them…” This was a quick rejection. The disloyalty that was shown by how quick they rejected Him. The hurt He felt. The betrayal.
The Book of Judges
After Israel enters the promised land, some time goes by to where they’re now assigned Judges from within to govern the people with the wisdom of The I AM, of course. If you read the book of Judges, you will see “And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord–” frequently. Then, you would see the children of Israel repent, after The Most High removed His hand and allowed them to be held captive or slaughtered by their enemies. And then, it’ll say a few moments later “And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD–”. They’d be loyal to God then they wouldn’t be loyal to Him.
Time and time again, they rejected their God for people, other gods, or other hedonistic desires, but The Most High continued to receive them for His name sake (mainly) and love for them.
A Different King
During the time of Samuel and even before Him, The Most High has proven to be a champion on the battlefield for Israel. Continuously gave Israel the victory over their enemies. He sustained Israel greatly to the point their enemies feared their God (1 Samuel 4:3-8),
“And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.
4 So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
5 And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.
6 And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp.
7 And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.
8 Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.”
God was Israel’s reputation. The Most High’s name was beared on Israel’s chest, so strangers greatly feared them. The Most High did great things for Israel. He made them a well known, honored, and respected nation because of His love for them…
But, that was not enough for them. They did a hurtful thing to The Most High. A very-very hurtful and trifling thing against The Most High–a great sin.
They asked for another King (1 Samuel 8:5),
“And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.”
explain their reasoning behind this, Valencia.
Their speech displeased Samuel, and he consulted with The Most High, but because He respects freewill, He said,
“...Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me that I should not reign over them.”
Pay attention to The Words of Your Savior. He specifically said the words, “...they have rejected me…” Hmmm. Remember Hebrews 4. He understands rejection. I believe He gave the people another chance to consider their speech and the impact of their speech by telling Samuel to protest to them what all would come with them asking for and receiving a king; yet, the people were assured in their speech of rejecting God as their king (1 Samuel 8:19-20),
“Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;
20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.”
Israel rejected their God because of emulation. Where have we seen this word emulation before? In Galatians 5’s works of the flesh. Emulation is the ambition or endeavor to equal or excel others (as in achievement) (Merriam-Webster). It is also the process of copying something achieved by someone else and trying to do it as well as they have (Cambridge Dictionary). It is also the effort to match or surpass a person or achievement, typically by imitation.
Israel was so deep in this work of the flesh that it negatively affected someone–their God (1 Samuel 10:18-19).
“And said unto the children of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you:
19 And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes, and by your thousands.”
Once again, The Most High did wonderful things for Israel; and, once again, Israel rejected their God easily.
The betrayal.
The disloyalty.
The pain.
The rejection.
His Priests (Book of Malachi)
I remember I did a lesson on this subtopic. In Deuteronomy, we see The Most High separate the tribe of Levi for Himself:
Deuteronomy 10:8-9, “At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day. (9) Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.”
Deuteronomy 18:1-2, “The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance. (2) Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.”
Deuteronomy 18:5, “For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.
The Most High specifically called the tribe of Levi to become His personal servants (ministers) and to speak well of (bless) Him; however, through the time, they betrayed, despised, and rejected Him.
Malachi 1:6;10, “A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? And if I be a master, where is my fear? Saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? (10) Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? Neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.”
Can you feel the pain and grief in The Most High's heart? His Word explicitly tells us how His chosen, who were ordained to MINISTER and BLESS Him...forsook Him. They forsook His covenant. His guidelines. His commandments. They became selfish.
The priesthood began to present the same behavior reflected in Matthew 15:8. They honored Him with their lips, but their hearts were FAR from Him. They became so wicked that their God told them, "I have no pleasure in you."
Wow.
Matthew 16:21, “From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.”
Matthew 21:23, “And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? And who gave thee this authority?”
Matthew 26:59, “Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;”
Luke 22:2, “And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.”
Matthew 27:20, “But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.”
The Most High set a part of a special people for Himself, and they became so defiled they rejected and forgot who their God was. They weren’t aware He was walking amongst them in those days. His own people He created to serve Him sought out to take His own life and succeeded. His chief priests and elders of Israel killed their God. No Romans. No one else. His OWN people conspired against them.
The betrayal.
The pain.
The rejection.
So, it was no longer the familiar story of His people rejecting Him over and over again, but this time rejecting to the point they wanted Him removed from the face of the earth, and they succeeded.
Rejection wasn’t enough, but removal was necessary in their eyes because they despised so much. This was the Levitical priesthood; however, you and I are in the royal priesthood and He is the High Priest. But, still til this day, His royal priesthood despises Him. In His council. Prophecies. Wisdom. Word. Guidance. And so much more…this time we can’t kill Him.
Judas
Matthew 26:14-16, “ Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, (15) And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. (16) And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.”
Matthew 26:20-25, “Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve. 21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? 23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. 24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. 25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.”
Matthew 26:46-50, “Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me. 47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. 48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. 49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. 50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.”
Jesus’ Crucifixion
Matthew 26:2, “Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.”
Matthew 26:66, “What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death. 67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, 68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?”
